The beauty of Prambanan temple architecture is widely recognized by the world. This form of architecture is an architectural tradition in Hindu philosophy which refers to the Wastu Sastra book. The layout and patterns of the temple follow a mandala shape depicting a philosophy of shielding or defense. The temple is conical to resemble a tower with small stupas that circle from the bottom to the top, referring to the shape of the mandala.

Most of the reliefs depict daily life during the Medang Kingdom era or often referred to as Ancient Mataram which ruled from the 8th to the 11th century. Relief depiction is also in the form of semi-three-dimensional visual diaorama of Ramayana and Krisnayana stories.

The objects depicted are in the form of humans, animals, various plants and also objects commonly used at that time. Human visualizations resemble characters and figures in various Ramayana and Krisnayana stories, but there are relief fans depicting other stories that cannot be clearly identified regarding the background of these scenes.

This discovery is very interesting because the relief is not abstract, but very natural and real. Although there are also mythical creatures that are described as a mixture of humans or animals, most of the objects displayed are real creatures, whether humans, animals or plants.
For example, in many fanels, there are reliefs depicting animals in very clear shapes. Even so clearly the description of the animal is that many fauna experts can identify the classification of animals to the level of genus or family scientifically. One of the many animals depicted on the temple walls is a bird.

Such is the natural visualization in the relief diarama of Prambanan Temple, so the experts are able to classify the various types of fauna that exist in these fanelles. The most common examples of fauna classification are from the aves (bird) group. Classification of birds if observed carefully such as; peacocks (Pavo sp.), cangaks (Ardea sp.), partridge (Gallus sp.), echoes (Turnix sp.), herons (Egretta sp.), Cockatoos (Caccatua sp.), Cekakak (Halcyonidae), Buceros sp., Pigeons (Columbidae) and Crows (Cervus sp.). Why is the description of these animals so clear?

Apart from the physical form of birds which are very subtle and clear. The birds are also described in all their behavior. In the relief diorama, the birds also seem to have cute, tame, or some that look wild like birds in the forest.

Each visualization has a meaning and meaning as a description of the meaning of the diarama that the temple relief maker wants to convey. Like a peacock dancing and making out with a peacock. Birds pair between a Kalpataru tree with the movements of birds that seem to live and interact.

Prambanan reliefs are not only at the bottom at the top, there are also various kinds of reliefs.

The depiction of birds is not just a dead form but seems to live and interact with its surroundings. This means that visualization does not merely pursue the basic form of a bird where there is a body, head and legs but much more than that. Birds are depicted in great detail to the extent that the character and nature of the birds are very visible if we pay close attention.
